This was the last Ferozeshah Parade that the 1st Battalion Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) held in Hong Kong. It was held on the 14th December 1989 due to operational commitments.

The inspecting officer was the Commander British Forces, Major General Peter DUFFELL CBE MC. The escort to the Colours was provided by 'C' (Sp) Company, and the R.S.M.s guard and escort to the Colours by 'B' Company. A further guard was found by HQ Company, commanded by Major John SILVESTER.

To most soldiers the Ferozeshah Parade finished the moment you marched off parade, but for the Sgts and Officers the proceedings were not complete until the colours were handed back to the Officers with due ceremony at Midnight. We display a few images from the 1989 Ferozshah Ball in Hong Kong 1989
